Packers 34, Dolphins 24

Whoo Hoo!! Another good game by the Pack and this one even resulted in a win. Not only was this the first win ever by the Packers in Miami, but it brings them to 2-4. With two somewhat easy teams in the next weeks in Arizona and Buffalo, it's feasible we could be looking at .500 soon. I think that's pretty big.

Negatives:

  1. Daryn Colledge (or should I say, the fact that Chad Clifton had to sit out with the flu): He was no match in the beginning of the game for Miami defensive-end Jason Taylor. Favre got sacked twice from his side with two fumbles. But, in the Packers defense, they saw the mismatch here and made adjustments accordingly.
  2. The pass defense. Joey Harrington threw for 414 yards. Granted, they only held him to 2 TDs, but dang. And if it weren't for many dropped balls by the Dolphins, that TD stat surely would have been different and the game might have had a different outcome.

Positives:

  1. Being able to win in Miami for the first time ever.
  2. Ahman Green's 70-yard TD. It was so nice to see the new offensive line scheme finally work and just as good to see him with that burst of speed that so many of us questioned if he even had after his injury.
  3. Donald Driver's TD catch. It looked good, but the ref called in incomplete. DD immediately got up and told Coach McCarthy to challenge it. He knew he had the ball the whole time. The best part about it was watching Favre carry Donald after the ref overturned the play. It was hilarious! That's why I love this guy!
  4. 4. The defense was fantastic in picking off Joey Harrington. Especially Charles Woodson's TD return. Awesome...and this play really turned the momentum in favor of the Packers.
  5. 5. Dave Rayner: He made every field goal that he had to, including two on drives where the defense intercepted. The interceptions mean nothing if you don't get any points from them. I felt bad for Dave Rayner at the end of the first half, though. What a mess...he kicked one from 55 yards out and made it. Well, there was a penalty on the Dolphins so they moved the ball 15 yards and he tried again from 40. Made that one. However, there was a penalty on the Packers on that kick, so it moved back to the 55. Only for the refs to decide that since there was an offensive penalty, there was time to take off of the clock, so the half ended. Poor Dave Rayner - he just wanted points for one of those and got nothing...it was pretty silly.

Next week: Packers (2-4) vs. Arizona (1-6)

Good to see the Packers win. Good to see Favre get something from the game he hasn't in his past years. Bad to see a defensive penalty take points off the score board. This happens more than you think. I believe the play should continue and the offense gets to take thier choice after the play. Like when the defense jumps and everyone starts yelling "free play".
Sounds like everyone had a good time at your weds night get together.
I don't think the grand doggy will even remember me. I guess we have the crazed doggy in a few weeks. That should give me my doggy fix.
