Packers 20, Rams 23

Dang. This one hurt. The Packers were SO close to a come from behind win...I'm pretty down about this one. I think I've been pretty realistic about the Packers chances this year, but I thought they had this one.

Negatives:
  1. More missed interception opportunities. Al Harris, Charles Woodson and A.J. Hawk all missed balls that should have been caught.
  2. Dave Rayner missed a field goal.
  3. Favre fumbling the ball on the biggest play of the game. Ouch. That leads to:
  4. The O-line crumbling on the biggest play of the game and allowing Favre to get sacked.
  5. The offense not getting TDs. Field goals are nice, but had even one of those field goals been a TD, the game would have certainly had a different ending.

Positives:

  1. Noah Herron: he stepped up when Morency fumbled and ran for 106 yards.
  2. The O-Line: you can tell that the new zone-blocking scheme is finally starting to work for these guys. They seem to get better each week, and proof of that is the run game.
  3. Greg Jennings: Wow, this guy is going to be something special. He caught a beautiful TD from Favre. You can tell that he is quickly becoming one of Favre's favorite targets.
  4. The Packers really seem to be improving each week. A lot of you think that the only sign that they are improving is to get a W. That might be partially true, but when this team is as young as they are and every week them seem to be getting better - I think that's promising.
  5. Next week is the Bye week. Time for the team to regroup and rest up a little bit. Let's hope they come out of the Bye ready to go for Miami on October 22nd.

Next week: Packers (1-4) Bye Week

We all know by now that this is not going to be a play-off year for the Packers. We can just be happy with good games. Jump for joy if they win one. Being a real Packer fan is giving them support in the lean years. Lets just hope this isn't a 30 year wait. I have a new name for this coach Mike Micounty. He needs the finger asst. I called it the 11th finger guy but he can also do 12.

i guessed 6-10 at the beginning of the year, but that might not be approachable. favre should have retired 2 years ago!

Favre should stay and play as long as he is doing his job and enjoying playing the game. I do alot of sports that I know I'm not going to win. I can still be competative and have some fun giving it a try. The Packers would not be doing better no matter how great of a quaterback was under center.
