Merry Christmas!

It's finally here. I do love Christmas. Spending time with family and friends, giving gifts (and receiving!), eating good eats. I don't think there is anything better. The next two days will be action packed though, let me tell you. Ross is working today :( but I'm going to meet him for lunch. Then it is off to my grandma's. We'll play games, eat and open presents. Fun! Ross will meet us there when he is done. When we are done at my grandma's, we'll go to my other grandma's house for more games and a few presents. Then it is to my mom's house for our Christmas with Moon. Yikes. And that is just today! Tomorrow, Ross and I will have our Christmas in the morning. Although, I have a feeling we may not be able to wait until tomorrow morning! Maybe we'll have to open 1 tonight :) After our Christmas, we head to church and back to my grandma's to open the rest of the presents. After that we head to the in-laws and have Christmas there. Then, tomorrow night we head to Shannon and Jeremy's house for our Christmas with them. WHEW!!! It's going to be 48 hours of Christmas-madness! I love it!

The Packers play tomorrow. All I want for Christmas is a Packers win! Seriously...should be a good game, although we probably won't get to see it all. I'm not even going to go there though...Anyway. I'm looking forward to the next 48 hours, no matter how crazy they may be.

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

And the rush is on...

The Christmas rush that is. Shan and I went shopping on Saturday, and I managed to knock out a big chunk of shopping. I have some to do yet, however. I guess I'm always a bit last minute with the shopping. That's okay; I think subconsciously I enjoy the hustle and bustle. Saturday night, I watched It's A Wonderful Life and wrapped everything that I bought. It was some nice "me" time.

Sunday, we went snowshoeing at Pets. It was so cool. I'm really looking forward to snowshoeing a lot this winter. It's nice to have a winter hobby. Makes the winter a little more bearable :)

Snowshoeing is an awesome part of winter. Commuting, however, is not. We are supposed to get some big snow tomorrow, just in time to make my commute home a mess. It's okay. I will just take my time. I do have new tires now, so that's a relief. I'm not so much worried about myself though; it's the other people who drive like it is 80 degrees and sunny that I worry about.

It's snowing!

I love it! It is so pretty. Ross and I just got back from snowshoeing in our backyard...aren't we dorks?!! :P We got each other snow shoes a long time ago, and this was the really the first time there has been enough snow to use them. It was very cool. It's totally a great workout, too. I think we will get good use out of them this winter... :)

This afternoon we had a Thanksgiving dinner at my dad's house. My stepmom cooked a delicious meal, as always. It was very nice.

Tomorrow, Ross and I are doing the advent reading at church. I'll be reading and Ross will light the candle. It's nice that Pastor Dave asked us to do it. Tommorow is also the big Packers v. Bears game. Should be interesting...I hope they win!
Happy Birthday Shannon!

I hope you have a great day!

Well, I talked to my grandma today. Her and my grandpa just got back from Florida. I guess my aunt's prognosis isn't looking as good as we thought. Even though the doctor seemed confident that the tumor wasn't cancerous, the biopsy did come back positive. Now Donna has to go through chemo and stuff. It will be a tough road, no doubt. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

On a brighter note, the Christmas season sure is in full swing. Ross and I put up our tree the day after Thanksgiving. We have a tradition of buying real trees since we have lived together. This year, we got a beautiful balsam from Home Depot. I think it is the biggest tree we have ever had! And it smells soooo good. We bought lights for the outside of the house, but haven't put them up yet. I'm hoping we get to it this weekend.

I guess I was a bit of a slacker in blogging what I was thankful for around Thanksgiving. Truth is, I have so many things that I am thankful for. Jeremy put it so well. I'm thankful to have so many things to be thankful for: a good job, a house, a wonderful husband who is my best friend, awesome friends, an unbelievable family, good health...I could go on and on. It is a nice feeling.

Any big plans for the weekend? Saturday is Shannon's B-day. Ross and I are treating her and Jeremy to dinner tomorrow night...BTW, did you decide yet, Shan? :) We are all notoriously indecisive, but when it's your b-day, you have no choice! I'm sure we'll have a great time, no matter where we end up. After all, it's about the company you're with, isn't it?

The Packers head to Chicago this weekend. The Pack will be playing the role of spoiler. Not a role they are used to playing, that's for sure. I remember when I was a little kid in the 80's, and the Packers were awful. The thing people rooted for the most each year was to beat the Bears. If they did beat them, it didn't really matter that it was another losing season. I think that is kind of where Packer fans are today. In my mind, this is the biggest game of the season so far. They aren't playing for anything else at this point, so to beat the Bears would be sweet. Brett has always had the Bears' number. We'll see if he still does come Sunday...
