Motherhood

I saw one of my favorite sights of spring this morning on my way to work. A mama bird teaching her baby how to fly. You've seen it before, haven't you? The mom and baby are flying along and the baby rests for a few seconds on his mom's back. She lets him but then she flips him back in the air again. This year, it inspired me more than it ever has in the past. I guess because in 2 short months, I'm going to be that mama.

I'm excited about motherhood. But I'm equally nervous. I'd like to think I'll be a good mom. I know I sure have a good mom. I hope that I take after her. I'm really not sure what to expect. Do all new mothers have these feelings? I can't believe this journey is about to start. I better hang on, because one thing I am sure of is that it will be quite a ride!

Happy Spring, March Madness and more...

Spring is really starting to spring! I love it. I say this every year, but it is hands down my favorite time of year. Something about everything emerging from the cold, drab, brown landscape that is winter. The weather is warmer, the days last longer, the grass is getting greener, my daffodils have pushed through the soil and the buds on the trees are getting bigger every day! Oh yeah, my belly is growing right along with everything! Happy Spring to everyone!

Have you been following the NCAA tournament? I'm not the hugest college basketball fan in the world, but I do enjoy the tourney. The games are so exciting and often go down to the last second. I'm in a pool this year for work; kind of in the middle of the pack right now. I was tied for third as of Friday night, but some of my teams lost on Saturday and Sunday (dang Kansas). Each round you can score more and more points though, so hopefully I can work my way back up. I got Ohio State winning it all. Go Ohio State!!

What else is new? Everything with the baby is going good. I'm to the point where I see the doctor every 2 weeks now. Dang, less than 10 weeks to go now. I can't believe how fast the time has gone. Truthfully, I hope I go a bit early. But the only determinant of that is whether or not this baby is ready. He'll come when he is, I suppose. Overall, I'm getting very excited though :) My shower is this weekend - I can't wait!

It's been awhile...

Time is just flying by; what can I say. We've been pretty busy preparing for the baby to get here. The nursery is coming together - Ross did a fantastic job on the painting and putting together the furniture. It looks great! My shower is in the works, too - I'm so excited! Meanwhile, I just keep getting bigger and bigger...Ross likes to tease me that I'm having twins :)

We've had a good few weeks. Work is super busy as always. Ross and I did manage to go on a date for Valentine's Day, though. He took me to see John Mayer in Madison. It was so incredibly awesome. I think the baby really dug it, too, because he was moving around the whole time. The concert was great. What's kind of cool, too, is that Ross and I discovered some new music while we were there. John Mayer's opening act, Mat Kearney was great. He was even named as one of VH1's You Oughta Know artists. Ross went out and bought his CD a few days later. Some of you Gray's Anatomy fans may recognize his music from there...We're diggin.'

In Packer news, Ahman Green signed with the Texans. They gave him a ton of money and I'm not sure he is worth that. It's still a big loss to the Packers though. I wonder what ol' Teddy boy has up his sleave for the running back position. We shall see...
