Don't you just love 3-day weekends???

And what a gorgeous weekend it was. Memorial Day weekend is always the unofficial kick-off to summer. It sure didn't disappoint this year, either. I think this is one of the first Memorial Days that it wasn't 50 degrees and raining all day. It was so beautiful.

We had a great weekend, too. Saturday we had a wedding...Congratulations Erick and Becky! It was a great time. We caught up with some old friends who we haven't seen in a long time. I feel like we haven't seen Bryan and Tara since their wedding a year and half ago. I also ran into several people that I haven't seen since high school...it was fun to catch up with everyone. Yesterday, we helped my brother move out of my mom's house. Big step, hey? He's so excited, and I'm excited for him. His place is really nice. The move was HOT! I don't think I've ever moved someone in 90+ degree heat. Besides taking almost an hour to get the couch in, the move went smoothly :) Last night Bryan and Tara came over to see the house and meet Winnie.

Today, Ross had to work :( so it was just me and Winnie-girl. She is so incredibly cute! We bonded...went for walks, took a nap and just hung out. Ross is due home any minute now. We are cooking out some turkey burgers and some righteous looking corn-on-the-cob that I picked up today. Nothing quite says summer like corn-on-the-cob, hey?

I also wanted to take a minute to give a big welcome home to the McCumbers! They are home from their wedding/honeymoon adventure. Ross and I can't wait to see all the pics and hear about everything. We missed you guys...welcome home!!

Introducing Winnie!

Could she be any stinkin' cuter????

Ross has been wanting a dog since the day we moved into our house, which was about a year ago. I don't think he's stopped smiling since we picked her up :) Welcome, Winnie! You've already won over our hearts; that's for sure.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. McCumber!

What a fantastic weekend! We had such a great time at Shannon and Jeremy's wedding. There is something that is just so cool about watching your best friends get married. It's especially cool when you can just feel the love from everyone.

The Grand Canyon was awesome. The weather was beautiful, and the scenery was absolutely breath-taking. We got there on Friday, and all I saw was a glimpse from the car. On Saturday morning, Ross and I took a walk to the Rim. It literally took my breath away. Then we went to Shoshone Point for the wedding. It was so beautiful. We headed back after a few hours and had a wonderful dinner and celebration at the Thunderbird Lodge.

On Sunday, we took a day hike down the Bright Angel Trail. We went down a mile and a half, then rested for a bit and went back up. The whole thing took about 3 1/2 hours. It was so cool. Coming up in that heat, at that incline and in that altitude is rough! I get fairly regular exercise, and it was pretty tough. So worth it though, and I definitely want to go back when we can do it again, this time all the way to the bottom.

I can see why Shan and Jerm love it so much there. It is an extremely spiritual and beautiful place. I can't wait to go back...2009, right? :P

On the drive to and from the GC, Ross and I took some time and stopped in Sedona. We took the Oak Creek Canyon drive as well. The scenery there is just as beautiful as the GC, on a much smaller scale though. Sedona is just such an awesome hippie town. Everyone is so laid back. It seemed like a nice way to live.

BTW, do you like the pic in this post? I finally figured out how to get one in there. I'm sure I could have figured it out before, but I didn't have anything as cool as a pic of the Grand Canyon to post before!

Celebrate?...well don't mind if I do!

So much to celebrate lately! B-day's, the Packers, new jobs, weddings...how fun! I had a wonderful b-day. It was spread out over a few days, which is always nice. Last Friday, I went out to dinner with my mom, Ross, Dean and Amber. We headed to Lonestar...yummy :) On Saturday night, Kelly and Eric came down and we all headed to K-town to hang out with Shan and Jerm. We went to a Japanese restaurant; you know, the kind where they cook at your table? It was very yummy. We were celebrating my b-day, and also my cousin's new job/graduation. She is moving to Boston :( I'm a little sad, but she has such an incredible opportunity ahead of her. All of her hard work has really paid off. Then, on Sunday, we went over to my dad's for a cook-out. That night we had Ross' family over for a cook-out at our house. It was such a beautiful day on Sunday! Way better than my b-day last year, when it was 40 degrees and rainy all day...anyway, it was a very nice weekend.

In other news, the draft went really good for the Packers. They did get A.J. Hawk, which is so awesome. Brett Favre finally spoke to the media last weekend at the first minicamp. It was interesting to hear what he had to say. One thing he did say is that he doesn't want to address any retirement questions this season. In the offseason he said that if he does come back, it will be his last year for sure. He seems to be shying away from that now. My thought is this...if the Packers do well this season, and keep improving, he won't want to hang it up. I'm very glad that he has said that he doesn't want to discuss anything during the season though. It was such a distraction last year, and really, for the past few years. Who knows?? As I said a few posts ago, I'm going to just sit back and enjoy the ride.

On Friday, we head to the Grand Canyon for Shannon and Jeremy's wedding. Whoo Hoo! It's going to be such a great time. Congratulations, Shan and Jerm!!!!!
